ISP - Pre-Nursing BSN Student

Tomora Tonioli, a pre-nursing student, enrolled in the Integrated Science Program for four months and was thoroughly prepared for her BSN program. She took four of the ISP weekend college accelerated classes including General Chemistry 1, Anatomy and Physiology 1, Anatomy and Physiology 2, and Microbiology.

"I investigated further with ISP, found out they were accredited, which was important to me...

I don't even know how you could compare the education, going to this type of college versus a community college...

I couldn't imagine doing the traditional school."

Tomora Tonioli, Pre-Nursing (BSN) Student, Video Transcript:

When the real estate market crashed, I decided to get a second career, go back to school and get my nursing degree. I dreaded the thought of science. That was never my forte. I investigated further with ISP, found out they were accredited, which was important to me for my college, and decided to go there, because it worked around my schedule or work and it was convenient and quick.

I built friendships in those classes, even though it's been short-term, that I will maintain for life. Very, very good education, great instructors there for you and available for you, it was awesome. Everybody's in the medical field and, as a nurse, you have networking opportunities for later on when you'll talk about other schools as you further your education and what's available.

They use PowerPoint presentation, in which I downloaded, weekly, to go through the assignments and go through the chapters and reiterate what the professor had been talking about, which helped me retain a lot of the information that I learned. I don't even know how you could compare the education, going to this type of college versus a community college. For me, because I'm an older working adult, I don't have the time that some 20-year-olds may have. So it was very urgent that I finished quickly.

It's a great, great program. I couldn't imagine doing the traditional school. I just couldn't do it. If I had the choice, looking at it, I would not be sitting 16 weeks in a science class for each class. This is the only way to go.

School has been difficult. As you get older, it's difficult. For me, it's going to be a sense of accomplishment that I know that I did it and didn't give up, reached my goals, and I'm now helping people. That's what I wanted to do.
