ISP - Pre-Pharmacy School

Eduardo Waller de Oliveira is one of the Admissions Counselors working closely with students who enroll in the Integrated Science Program. In the video below, he recounts the remarkable story of a successful pre-pharmacy student that relocated from Florida to Whittier, CA in order to study pre-pharmacy science classes, and today is enrolled at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Pharmacy School in San Francisco, one of the most competitive pharmacy programs in the United States.

"So I got him from Florida calling and saying, 'Does this work, is this real?' And then he is now at UCSF Pharmacy School."

He must have been a little kid from Florida to Whittier. I spoke to him the first day he contacted us and he said “you know what? I want to become a pharmacist. I'm leaving here, thinking of leaving Tampa, Florida.” He moved to Whittier, rented a room, and he was calling me every day. He studied pharmacy and pharmacy is one of the toughest because you need to take 11 classes to do pharmacy. Then after a while, he disappeared. Then I got in the mail, “I'm living in San Francisco. I'm at UCSF Pharmacy School.” It is the best school of pharmacy in the United States.

So I got him from Florida calling and saying, “Does this work, is this real?” And then he is now at UCSF Pharmacy School. It seems like this is really, really vital and it nourishes my soul. It is pretty cool.
